On Wednesday, Green Acres’ team along with representatives from SharpCor, Inc, Baker & Baker Towing Service, and Bark Boys, Inc enjoyed the opportunity to attend the Family Building Blocks Sustainers Happy Hour event. A gathering that highlights the important work being done for children and families in our community. Family Building Blocks plays a crucial role in supporting children ages newborn to 5 years old, providing relief nurseries that serve anyone in need of assistance.
With a mission centered around “Keeping Children Safe and Families Together,” Family Building Blocks provides vital services that extend beyond nursery care. Their impact can be felt throughout Marion and Polk counties as they offer home visiting services and family support.
In 2024 alone, Family Building Blocks made a significant difference in the lives of many—saving 1,569 children and supporting 811 families. Remarkably, 99% of the children they assisted were able to remain safely with their families, all thanks to their dedicated efforts, which include conducting an impressive 9,436 home visits.
Our attendees were inspired by the stories shared during the event and the commitment of Family Building Blocks to stay connected and support families in crisis. This engagement serves as a reminder of the power of community involvement and the difference we can make when we come together to help those in need.
If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back, consider supporting Family Building Blocks. They have multiple locations in Salem, Aumsville, Independence, and Woodburn, making it easy for community members to get involved.
