Are you looking for a way to spruce up your flower beds and landscaping? When cooler temperatures start to set in, it’s always tempting to look for flowers that will reflect the look of the season, but it can be difficult to choose the right flowers to plant. Let the team at Green Acres Landscape help! Just pick plants from our list of recommendations below, and we’ll do the rest.

Oregon Grape

From October through November, the Oregon Grape plant produces precious little yellow flowers at its tips. The flowers are surrounded by a lacy, evergreen foliage so you get two treats in one: You’ll enjoy the look of evergreens, with a splash of color throughout. It’s a perfect choice for those who aren’t looking for bright fall colors and want a more simple landscape.

Pansy

Pansies come in a variety of colors. You can easily swap out those spring and summer plants with ones full of burgundy and yellow shading. They bloom heavily, which means you’ll enjoy plenty of color and a lot of flowers until the end of fall. These are also perfect for hanging flower baskets or window boxes.

Purple Fountain Grass

While we recognize that purple fountain grass isn’t a flower, it does have that ideal burgundy/purple hue that makes for the perfect backdrop to the rest of your landscaping. This grass also adds significant texture, especially around perennial mums.
